Discrimination Occurs

Recommendation
Recognize that discrimination occurs even in the absence of reported discrimination. Certain cultures disapprove of complaining, challenging authority or even acknowledging discrimination; furthermore, students can be highly reluctant to report a professor because of fear of retaliation.
