RISE has lead the efforts in the Gallogly College of Engineering to celebrate diversity through the Year of Diversity.
We modeled our shoe print campaign after the ASEE Committee on Diversity’s display at the 2015 ASEE Annual Conference and Exposition in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A. We placed shoe prints containing diversity messages, like the one shown below, around the College of Engineering buildings.
Other activities for the celebration include training in diversity and for LGBTQ Allies offered specifically for the College of Engineering students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
We hosted the spring Festival of Diversity to highlight student organizations and offices that serve diverse communities.
Events planned for Fall 2016 include a forum on inclusivity and a diversity and inclusion block party.
