The Research Institute for STEM Education (RISE) brings together a multi-disciplinary research team<\/a> whose mission is to study the complex array of factors contributing to diverse students\u2019 successful academic experiences in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics majors (STEM). Utilizing a combination of discourse and artifact analysis, RISE develops recommendation<\/a>s to educators and academic policy makers based on those factors. RISE also strives to promote<\/a> a more equitable and diverse cultural climate within engineering education.<\/p>\n

These findings and recommendations derive from works supported by the National Science Foundation (Grant numbers: NSF HRD\/GSE-0225228<\/a>, NSF DUE\/STEP-0431642<\/a>, and NSF EHR\/DUE\/STEP 1068453<\/a>).<\/p>\n
